THE COMPANY

TGC Consulting is a full service detail firm, founded in 1993. We provide the best fabrication and installation packages available in North America. We love a challenge, and specialize in difficult, non-standard detailing work. We work on a range of projects small and large, up to 800 tons.
The company is based in the Okanagan Valley of British Columbia with a team of up to 15 people. Most of our work involves steel or miscellaneous metal detailing on commercial and industrial projects.

POSITIONS

Dedicated Checker
You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of our drawings, including checking codes, content, materials, availability, shipping, and erectability. The checker’s job is to identify all problems before the drawings go out the door. We would prefer someone willing to work from our Lake Country office for this position; we have an empty desk waiting for a Checker!
Experienced Steel Detailer
We are hiring for a variety of different roles, including 3D modeling, scrubbing (shop drawing clean up), and estimating. Working in Tekla, our detailers are responsible for producing 3D models from engineering consultants’ drawings. These 3D models must meet all industry guidelines and standards.

SKILLS REQUIRED

We primarily work with Tekla Structures and experience with the software is a high priority. We will consider applicants of all skill levels, with preference given to people with steel detailing industry experience and a 2 year technologist certificate from an accredited technical school. Familiarity with CISC and AISC standards is important, and candidates must speak and write fluent English.

We will also consider experienced detailers who have used other software (like AutoCad) or manual shop drawings. You will be given Tekla training and introduced to the Quality Management and Documentation Control Systems we have developed over the last 25 years. Significant industry experience is required for applicants not familiar with Tekla.
